Europas största konferens för programvarutestare – EuroSTAR – hålls i Amsterdam 5-8 november med Henrik Emilsson och Rikard Edgren på Qamcom i Karlstad som två av tre svenska talare.

”In late 2010, thetesteye.com published a poster called Software Quality Characteristics which was the result of trying to invent a better model of quality characteristics. When we started this, there was only one realistic and thorough model available – Bach’s CRUSSPIC STMPL – but we didn’t think that this model was perfect for us. Instead we attacked this model and started to question it in order to come up with a model that we thought were more true and valid for us and in our context. In this talk I will describe what we did during this interesting journey; a journey perhaps more important than the result itself”.

We make software for computers, and use computers for planning, execution and reporting. Our theories reflect this much more, way much more than the fact that each piece of software is unique, made for humans, by humans. — We can attack the same problems in alternative ways — if Gigerenzer is right; my statements have no chance of being accepted until we have a large battery of tools based on how people think and act…”
On November 7-8, Security Divas Sweden was organized for the first time in Karlstad, a national conference on cyber and information security that promotes women in these areas. The conference was organized by Stiftelsen Compare and Karlstad University.
How can the Internet of Things enable social change and cross-border cooperation? That was the key question during Compare's latest networking breakfast on November 14, which was also the final seminar for the Smart&Safe IoT project.
Sweden has a high degree of digitization but low cyber preparedness; a problematic combination that makes us vulnerable. This was one of the lessons learned during Compare's recent networking breakfast on 24 October which focused on cyber security.
