- It is fantastic that we have such strong demand for our services that we are expanding - in the middle of the pandemic. In the next two years, I expect to have around 60 employees. There is a strong desire for digitization and many innovative companies in Karlstad, which means that there is a great need for our services. In addition, there is a good recruitment base with a mix of senior skills and recent graduates, says Christoffer Nilsson.

Värmland has been hit hard by the Covid-19 crisis. In March, 4,052 of Karlstad municipality's residents were registered as jobseekers. During the month of March, Karlstad reported a total unemployment of 8.4 percent. It is the 22nd month in a row that unemployment in Karlstad is higher than it was during the same time the year before. Since May 2019, unemployment has risen from 6.4 to 8.4 percent.

In the middle of the burning corona crisis, the IT and communications company Consid opened a new office in Karlstad. The focus for the Karlstad office is digital solutions, system development and e-commerce. The establishment has so far meant that Karlstad has received around twenty new job opportunities.

- It feels good that we can bring good news and positive energy in these difficult times, says Christoffer Nilsson.

Consid was founded twenty years ago and is a comprehensive digital supplier in IT and communication. Today, Consid is one of Sweden's fastest growing companies. Nine years in a row, the company has been named Dagens Industri's Gazelle company. During the first quarter of 2021, the company employed just over 100 employees and the turnover for 2020 landed at SEK 1,250 million. At the establishment in Karlstad, it was precisely Consid's entire offering that was represented, but with a special focus on digital solutions, system development and e-commerce.

Consid Karlstad will soon move into the historic Posthuset - Schatullet.

- Our philosophy is to always have offices where the people - and the history - exist. Now that Sweden will soon restart, it will be the soft values such as authenticity and human encounters that matter most. In all 24 locations where we are located, we have the offices in the middle of the city center, always close for anyone to drop in and have a cup of coffee. We want to do our part to keep the city centers alive and to create meetings between people, says Christoffer Nilsson.
