Midroc Electro has been commissioned by the County Council in Dalarna to install the electrical and telecommunications systems in the new women's and surgical clinic in Falu hospital, which is to begin construction this autumn.
The assignment will be carried out in a partnering project together with the two construction companies, ByggPartner and ByggDialog, which are general contractors for the construction.
The building where the women's clinic and surgery clinic are currently located no longer meets the requirements of the healthcare system and is to be replaced with a brand new clinic on the same site. The old clinics will be demolished this summer and in the late autumn the shovel will be put in the ground for the new building. In parallel with the new construction of the clinics, the hospital's emergency department is also being rebuilt.
In the project, Midroc Electro will develop a completely new system for electricity and telecommunications that is adapted based on the patients treated at the hospital and the staff who work there.
The experience from similar hospital projects in both Karlstad and Västerås was decisive in the procurement, as well as good qualifications in collaborative projects. The assignment, which corresponds to approximately SEK 70 million, will provide employment for approximately 30 electricians.
- To have received such an extensive assignment in the home town and to be able to benefit from the knowledge we already have from other hospital projects feels especially fun, says Lars Holting, project engineer at Midroc Electro.
The new electrical and telecommunications systems to be installed will include everything from high voltage, power and lighting to fire alarms, passage control and patient call systems.
