Digital twins – safer deliveries and more efficient support

Tomorrow will place higher demands on accessibility and continued digitization of various production systems. This increases the need for simulation with so-called digital twins that minimize downtime in production. The major benefits of using a digital twin are being able to minimize commissioning times for new facilities, minimize downtime during maintenance efforts and reduce the risk of production disruptions during ongoing production. In other words, digital twins contribute to safer deliveries and more efficient support, while enabling major cost savings.

Working with and developing digital twins requires a significantly broader competence than traditional automation suppliers often have. At LearningWell, we have extensive experience with such simulations, as we have worked with this ever since the start in 2003.

What are digital twins?

• Digital twins mean developing a virtual copy of a production process. The digital copy behaves almost exactly like the real process. This allows new systems to be tested without disturbing the actual process and production. This way of testing and ensuring the quality of the systems has long been used within, for example, the nuclear power industry.

Growing demand in industrial IT

LearningWell's long experience in management and support of IT systems gives us the opportunity to meet the support that is in demand more and more also in industrial IT. For a long time now, we have worked with teams that include business and operational know-how, as well as IT systems for material, business and production management.

• In automation, integration is often about creating a communication link between control systems and superior systems.
