The IT master has taken a collective approach to environmental issues and offers climate-smart operational solutions for IT. The entire operation is climate compensated. By choosing a climate-smart supplier and outsourcing IT operations, the customer can also reduce their emissions.

There are several areas that must be taken into account when working with climate adaptation. Energy efficiency and conversion from fossil fuels not only concern emissions from own operations but also emissions from purchases. Choosing suppliers who work actively with environmental issues means that the climate impact of one's purchases is reduced. You can therefore benefit from the supplier's environmental work and jointly reduce your overall climate footprint. Outsourcing IT operations to a more environmentally friendly and climate-compensated IT operation solution is an easy way to gain both environmental and economic benefits

At IT-Mästaren, they have taken a collective approach to environmental issues and climate-compensate their entire operation. The electricity in the operating halls and offices is eco-labelled, all company cars run on ethanol, gas or are electric hybrids and the three offices are centrally located in Örebro, Karlstad and Stockholm, among other things, to stimulate travel by train. Thanks to wise environmental choices, the IT master's climate footprint is relatively low. In 2011, the operation gave rise to 59 tCO2.

In order to balance the emissions that have not been successfully eliminated, the IT-Mästaren also climate-compensates the emissions related to its own operations. This is done through tree planting in collaboration with small farmers in Mozambique with the help of U&W[you&we]'s climate initiative ZeroMission.

"We have chosen to compensate for the climate by planting trees because it is a project that is easy to communicate and understand for employees and customers," says Rikard Westlund, CEO of the IT master.

The consulting company in sustainability issues U&W [you&we] has made the calculations of the greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition to environmental benefits, the project contributes to economic development in an area with many poor farmers. Through the climate compensation, these small farmers can get additional income from the trees they plant on their land.

The IT master's tree planting is certified in accordance with the Plan Vivo standard, which ensures that the calculated climate benefits of the project are correct.
