On Friday, March 27, an IT security day will be organized in Karlstad with an introductory seminar by David Jacoby from Kaspersky Lab (“How I hacked my home)” and a subsequent panel discussion with experts on future security challenges. The IT security day is organized by Compare, Computer Science at Karlstad University and Karlstad University’s IT department.

A year ago, IT security expert David Jacoby at Kaspersky Lab held two well-attended seminars in Karlstad. Now he will return to Karlstad on Friday, March 27. David Jacoby (pictured) is a Senior Security Researcher at Kaspersky Lab where he is part of the company's global expert group of analysts – GReAT (Global Research & Analysis Team).

Seminar 10:15-12:00 How I Hacked My Home

  • David Jacobi talks about how he hacked his own home. In the presentation, David explains how surprisingly easy it turned out to be. He also discusses what an attacker might do if the equipment in the home can be hacked. 

Panel discussion 13:15-15:00 Where are we headed?

  • Panel discussion on future security challenges with David Jacoby (Kaspersky Lab), David Andersson (Bitsec), Frederick Wennmark (Trend Micro) and Daniel Krantz (Veriscan). Stefan Lindskog (Professor at Computer Science) is the moderator of the panel discussion.
