Microsoft Power BI was released in the summer of 2015. Ever since the release, Two has focused on developing solutions for our customers on this particular platform. Previously, we worked with reports and analyzes like so many others in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). However, these were less flexible and dynamic than Power BI. Furthermore, we always base our solutions on a stable data warehouse that we choose to build in SQL Server, something that we consider to be the basis for good decision support.

Power BI – now mature and ready to fly

After the first year on the market, many childhood illnesses had been fought and the platform started to become stable. More and more functions had been added and if you look at the platform today, it has become a fully loaded package full of functions and possibilities.

Why do customers choose Power BI?

When we start discussing the possibilities with decision support and different platforms, we can of course tell you most about the platform we are experts on - Power BI. But our customers are often well-read and can reason well about the advantages and disadvantages of the platforms they have taken an interest in. However, the following five reasons stand out as reasons why they ultimately choose decision support with Microsoft Power BI:

  1. The license cost - Power BI means a low entry cost where you don't have to commit to paying a large license fee initially in a project. With approx. SEK 80/month and user, you are at home and can drive from day 1.
  2. Self-service BI – you can produce your own reports and analyzes without being dependent on a consultant. Power BI is easy to learn and you can find free courses online to get started quickly and easily. A tip - with Google and a little cut & paste, you can take control of your decision support after a little start-up help.
  3. Roadmap & Microsoft - you cannot escape the fact that Power BI is a priority platform from Microsoft. The future looks bright to say the least - will the competitors keep up with the development?
  4. Simplicity - it's easy to produce reports and dashboards - and publish to the selected stakeholders in your company. Power BI Desktop is a simple tool where you create your reports. You recognize yourself in appearance from the Office 365 family, it's not more complicated than that.
  5. The whole - you get quick analyzes in your reports and dashboards - on your computer, tablet or mobile. Just as it suits you. Wherever you are.

Find the right decision support – successful examples

There are of course many other competent BI platforms on the market. But when our customers had their say, it was precisely these reasons that made the choice easy. The choice is Power BI! read more about Lekang Group and Ingemar Johansson in Sweden which are two of our customers who have chosen Power BI as their decision support platform.
