During Friday, Nordic Medtest was visited by Camilla Brodin and Mattias Fröding. Camilla is a Member of Parliament and a member of the Business Committee and Mattias is a member of the Municipal Council, Karlstad Municipality and second vice-chairman of the Health and Care Board. Healthcare is a sector in constant development with increased demands and continuous introduction of new e-health services and IT systems. The purpose of the visit was to discuss challenges and opportunities for regional companies and their operations.

"Testing and quality assurance are fundamental for a functioning digital development. Security and usability are fundamental for all new systems and services. In order to meet the challenges of healthcare and the needs of the residents, we also need to increase the pace of work with digitization and remove fundamental obstacles to development," says Magnus Lindström, CEO of Nordic Medtest AB, who told us about our business and highlighted the opportunities and challenges we see in the work with digitalisation. "We are already seeing services for digital doctor visits and an increased use of health apps on an individual level. It is important that the whole is connected. At the same time, exciting developments are now starting to increase accessibility in the resident's first contact with care via digital services and also to expand the possibilities for, for example, self-care."

A platform and infrastructure for digital information exchange between different actors within the national ecosystem for care and social care is also often requested.

"I sometimes hear that this needs to be developed. Good then that it is already established, functioning and quality assured," says Magnus Lindström.

The platform consists of the National service platform with associated infrastructure services. 400 systems are connected and 1 billion messages are sent per year. (source Inera AB)

On the question of recruitment and competence supply, Magnus says that "Nordic Medtest has so far succeeded well in attracting new competent employees, but it is a constant work in progress. Decisive is a clear and attractive profile and direction as a company, both national and regional anchoring and a well-functioning collaboration with local partner organizations and with the University."
