In November 2018, it became clear that Värmland is the winner in the Vinnväxt competition for the DigitalWell Arena initiative. Behind the initiative are Compare, Region Värmland, Karlstad University, County Administrative Board in Värmland, Karlstad Municipality, Karlstad El & Stadsnät, RISE Service Labs, MSB, Tieto, CGI, Nordic Medtest, Effect Management and Xmentor Management. It is about a 10-year investment to build an environment where the digital health services of the future will be developed, based on the resident's challenges.

- With an aging population and increased expectations of accessibility in welfare, it is absolutely necessary to prioritize this type of investment, Magnus Bårdén, CEO Compare

"WE MUST SOLVE THIS TOGETHER"

Last Friday, we gathered all parties to share expectations and presentations of already ongoing investments in the area from, among others, Region Värmland, Karlstad University, the already ongoing project DigitalWell and RISE Service Labs.

- There is no single actor who can solve this, but we have to do it together, Camilla Evensson, RISE Service Labs.

"LONGING FOR AN INITIATIVE IN THE HEALTH SECTOR"

Also present was Sofia Norberg, who was involved in deciding on the DigitalWell Arena, from Vinnova to officially hand out the Vinnväxt statuette, read out the nomination and talk about the importance of Vinnväxt for Sweden and for the regions with Vinnväxt initiatives.

- We especially want to welcome DigitalWell Arena to the Winnväxt family. We have longed for an initiative in the health sector and look forward to DigitalWell Arena contributing to good results, says Sofia.

The day ended with the participants sharing their feelings about the upcoming work to build the DigitalWell Arena and the responses were overwhelmingly positive, as you can see below.

Cecilia Karlsson, currently e-health strategist in Region Värmland, will become one of two Process Managers in DigitalWell Arena starting on February 1.
