TechTalk – Tech in the tourism industry

At 12.15-13.00, Online via Zoom

How can the tourism industry adapt and create concepts to maintain or increase interest in its destinations? For three years, Karlstad University has worked to increase competence and develop concepts for location-based digital experiences. You can see the result during this week's TechTalk.

We get a visit from Lotta Braunerhielm, project manager and lecturer in cultural geography at Karlstad University, who shares the results from the research and development project "Place-based digital experiences".

For three years, they have worked closely with entrepreneurs and destinations to raise skills and develop concepts for location-based digital experiences. The method of how to work towards digitization is one of the results of the project – a unique method that makes Värmland a pioneer for location-based digital experiences.

- What we have been working with and what the companies are gaining more knowledge about is about how actors can both enhance experiences but also supplement their destination with digital solutions, says Lotta. During the Corona crisis, it has proven vital to be able to switch to alternative ways of conveying information and arousing interest, and for many a digital switchover has been absolutely necessary.

Together we discuss how the tourism industry can change digitally in order to maintain or increase interest in their travel destinations!

WHEN: Tuesday 10 November at 12.15-13.00
WHERE: Online via Zoom - you connect here
FOR WHO: For everyone who is interested in networking & the possibilities of digitization.
REGISTRATION: No registration is required.

Warm welcome!

Lotta Braunerhielm, project manager and lecturer in cultural geography at Karlstad University
