In February, it was decided that Inera's subsidiary, Nordic Medtest, would be allowed to expand its responsibility as Inera's test and development center in Karlstad. The decision is part of Inera's strategy to focus more on the core business and increase the share of own competence in digitalisation. This will ensure internal strategic competence in important core areas and make it possible to reduce costs in the long term. Since the summer, intensive work has been going on to move the application management of the platform from an external supplier to Inera's subsidiary Nordic Medtest, and from November 1, Nordic Medtest will take over the application management completely.

- That NMT has been given the responsibility to manage and drive the development of the national platform for care and social care is a great trust. As Inera's test and development company, we have a high level of competence and extensive knowledge within the company to take on the task, says Anette Eriksson, unit manager Nordic Medtest.

The national service platform is a central component of the national IT infrastructure for, among other things, healthcare. It handles information transfers between different healthcare providers and between healthcare providers and residents. Many of the healthcare IT services and functions are dependent on the platform and during the pandemic it has been critical for, for example, digital services within the 1177 Vårdguiden and information on vaccinations.

- Nordic Medtest has extensive knowledge of Inera's services, architecture and infrastructure. Going forward, our subsidiary will work with test and development linked to what is Inera's absolute core business. It involves the development and management of strategically important components for our customers, including the National Service Platform. At the same time, we will continue to follow our strategy, which means that we will use external suppliers for many of our services, says Caroline Hagberg, business area manager for Infrastructure and Architecture at Inera.
