On February 16 next year, it will be time for Hotspot to once again become a real meeting place for companies and students. At the last physical edition of the event, in 2020, all booth spaces sold out and almost 7,000 students came to network with potential employers.

- After a year of digital meetings, fairs and distance from each other, it feels great to be able to hold the Hotspot fair on site in February next year. I think there is a great desire from both exhibitors and students to meet in real life and to make contact with each other during their studies, says Julia Strandman, project manager for Hotspot.

Mikael Holmgren, Compare, together with Pauline Williamsson, Atea, during the 2020 edition of Hotspot. Now the event opens again for meetings between students and companies in the university's premises.

This year's Hotspot was innovative in many ways, as Corona put an end to mingling in the university's premises. At the same time, the digital format created new opportunities for distance learners to participate, and direct video meetings meant that the entire fair had an even clearer focus on recruitment.

Compare is therefore also investing in the upcoming Hotspot to keep a digital window open at the job fair. Via a live stream from Compare's stand at the fair, member companies are offered to present their workplace to students who are not there, but who are curious about what Karlstad's tech sector can offer.

- Hotspot is a strong brand that has been built over a long time, so we believe and hope that there is interest even outside the county border. We also need to open up and attract more skills to Värmland as we see that the need for skills is greater than the supply, says Mikael Holmgren, responsible for skills and membership issues at Compare.

Just like last year, Compare is also one of the main sponsors of Hotspot. This means that our member companies have priority access to booth spaces until October 25, just like the previous year's exhibitors. First come first served!
