This initiative is part of Attraktionskraft Värmland, which is working to strengthen the region’s attractiveness and secure the skills supply of the future. The three-year project is coming to an end.
Can you summarise some of the project’s biggest successes so far?
One of the biggest successes is our diploma programmes in gender equality and inclusion. We have reached almost 160 leaders in both private and public organisations in Värmland, which has given the region a significant skills boost. Studies show that the likelihood of employees staying in the workplace increases by 47% when organisations actively work with inclusion, diversity and gender equality. We hope that the organisations that have participated in the training will experience these kinds of results!
The schyst.se knowledge bank has also been a success with great interest in the training material from regional, national and international organisations, which is why schyst.se has been translated into English. We know that several organisations have already started using the knowledge bank in their work.
What do you see as the future of schyst.se and the work of Attraktionskraft Värmland after the project ends?
Schyst.se will remain after the project ends and will continue to be updated with new material, ensuring that it remains a relevant source of knowledge about inclusive working life. Now that Schyst.se is translated into English, it is available to a wider audience, which really opens doors for more users.
We are also working to secure and build on the other results we have achieved. We will be talking more about this at the final conference for Attraktionskraft Värmland, “The workplace of the future,” on 9 November in Karlstad. It will be a full day of inspiration, panel discussions and networking around gender equality and inclusion as an attraction. You can find more information about the event on Region Värmland’s website.
What will you take away from the days in Brussels that can help Värmland continue to attract talent and strengthen the region’s competitiveness?
We in the project group have been in Brussels both to gain new knowledge about what is happening in the field of skills supply in Europe and to disseminate information about Attraction Värmland and Schyst.se. We monitored the world around us, networked and learnt about how other regions in Europe work to attract talent and retain skills.
