What are you studying?
– I am studying frontend development at JENSEN University of Applied Sciences in Stockholm where I started in 2023. I have completed all courses and currently have my first LIA placement at Compare in Karlstad.
How did you get into this line of work?
– What attracted me to front-end development is my interest in programming with HTML, CSS and JavaScript as well as UX/UI. After 2 years of working in different places, I decided to study and start my journey in an IT career.
What attracted you to Compare?
– It was very difficult to find an LIA placement in Stockholm because I had no contacts or work experience in programming. In the end, I started looking outside Stockholm and got in touch with my supervisor at Compare with whom I could agree.
How has it been so far?
– So far it’s been good and exciting, although it was a bit challenging to get into the routine the first few weeks at Compare. Now I feel more confident but still have a lot to learn. The most fun is travelling by train from Stockholm to Karlstad and visiting the office twice a week, even if I have to wake up at 03:30.
What do you hope to take away from your traineeship?
– I hope to gain experience working in IT, especially as a UX/UI designer, and ideally gain employment with Compare if I do a good job. It would be a great gift and give me an opportunity to develop in my professional role and gain valuable experience.
What do you do in your spare time?
– In my free time, I exercise, socialise and explore subjects such as history, culture, languages, psychology, cooking, IT and programming. I also love travelling, especially to Turkey, Spain and culturally rich countries.
