Johan Pettersson works daily with his police students on issues of power, norms, behaviour, prejudice and jargon. This means that he has extensive knowledge and experience in the subject.
In this lecture “Jargon at work – the best and worst of workplace culture”, he alternates film clips and discussions to broaden our perspectives.
What is jargon, how does it affect the workplace and why are things often perceived differently depending on who we are? By asking questions we rarely talk about, more inclusive and equal workplaces can be created.
Workshop for those who want to
The lecture will be followed by a workshop on the same theme for those who wish to attend in person. The knowledge and conversations about jargon, language use and power at work are deepened through practical and solution-focused exercises. The lecture and workshop will be facilitated by Johan Pettersson, lecturer and teacher at the Police University College in Malmö, who works daily with issues related to power, norms, behaviour, prejudice and jargon with his police students.

It is possible to participate digitally or on site in Karlstad Innovation Park. For those who participate on site, it is also possible to choose whether you wish to participate in the subsequent workshop.
Seminar: 7.45-9.15 am. For physical participation, we start at 07.30 with breakfast.
