TheSwedish Vocational Championships (Yrkes-SM ), held between 23-25 April, is an initiative to promote interest in and recruitment to vocational education and training in order to secure the supply of skills and build bridges between education and industry.

Yrkes-SM is a large and rich competition and exhibition event at Tingvalla Sports Centre where hundreds of Sweden’s most skilled young people compete against each other and show their professional skills. During Yrkes-SM, visitors/students are also given the opportunity to try out a number of professions in practice.

As online threats increase, more companies and organisations are reviewing their cybersecurity. Today, there is a great demand for skills in cybersecurity, and to meet this need, Sweden needs to attract more young talent who see a future in this exciting field. During Yrkes-SM, visitors will have the opportunity to try out the profession at Karlstad University’s and Compare’s exhibition stand, including by fending off a simulation of a cyber attack.

The booth will focus on cybersecurity education and demonstrate in different ways how students can acquire a technical background in cybersecurity at different levels of education. From vocational colleges to basic and advanced university courses and programmes.
