Compare grows and appoints new leadership

Compare continues to grow as a regional and national innovation platform for societal transformation with a focus on tech.

The organisation is developing very positively, which creates opportunities to increase the pace of innovation initiatives for Värmland and Sweden. Compare is now adapting its leadership to meet this development. As part of this, the current CEO Magnus Bårdén is changing roles within the organisation and an interim CEO is being appointed.

After ten successful years as CEO of Compare, Magnus Bårdén is handing over operational leadership to focus entirely on assignments that create national and international development. The change, initiated by Magnus with the support of the Board, is a natural step towards strengthening the organisation’s role as a leading player in successful innovation environments with a focus on the opportunities of digitalisation.

– We want to put even greater vigour behind our efforts to solve complex societal challenges. Appointing a new CEO, who with a new voice and energy can drive our initiatives forward, is a natural step in Compare’s development,” says Magnus Bårdén.

In recent years, Compare has strengthened its role as a leading player in digital social transformation. With a strong portfolio of assignments and a clear strategy, the time is now ripe to further strengthen the organisation’s operational and strategic capacity.

– This change will enable Magnus to continue to drive important national and international developments while strengthening our regional presence. It is a change that is fully in line with our ambition to put Värmland on the map as a leading innovation region,” says Fredrik Svensson, Chairman of Compare.

Senior leader with great commitment to Compare becomes interim CEO

On 1 February 2025, the change will come into effect, and Compare will appoint an interim CEO with an appointment during 2025. The Board has chosen an experienced and well-established candidate with deep knowledge of the organisation and a long-standing commitment to Compare through her Board assignment. The incoming interim CEO, Charlotte Wäreborn Schultz, has a solid background as a leader and network builder, with extensive experience from both the regional business community and the public sector.

– “This is an ideal solution for Compare right now. Charlotte has both the right experience and a great interest in the business, which gives us a smooth transition and security in our continued work, says Fredrik Svensson.

This change marks an important step in Compare’s development, where the organisation continues to deliver on its mission to create sustainable and innovative solutions for Värmland’s and Sweden’s societal challenges.
