Meet our co-worker, Lina Svensberg

It's time to introduce another amazing human of Compare - Lina Svensberg, Innovation Manager. Lina found her way to Compare after having worked in several different professional and geographical areas in her life.

Please describe yourself & your path to Compare!

I started as a classical pianist, but my curiosity led me to the startup world. After a detour in corporate IT, I found myself in Barcelona in 2017, considering a return to Sweden. I searched for “jobs in Karlstad” and discovered a process leader role at Compare, working at the intersection of the public sector and innovative companies. Having recently scaled a teleradiology company in the Swedish market, it was the perfect opportunity I had been waiting for.

Which aspect of working at Compare do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy the opportunity to satisfy my curiosity and embrace new perspectives. Working alongside great colleagues, both within and outside the organisation, is truly inspiring, and I very much appreciate being able translate ideas to tangible results.

What are you most involved in right now? (Specific project / area)

Right now, I’m working on the demand acceleration model, where we’re addressing how the public sector can drive innovation through public procurement. Additionally, I’m excited to explore how we can use the innovation commons framework to strike the right balance between collaboration and competition in the innovation system.

What do you currently find inspiring and worth sharing with others that are interested in your area of expertise?

Please see my Instagram account where I share reviews and reflections about inspiring books.

What is your favourite memory related to Compare?

Since joining Compare in 2018, I’ve had countless memorable moments. If I had to pick one, it would be the start of our journey with DigitalWell Ventures during the VC lab programme by Founders Institute. It was a tough but incredibly rewarding experience. We grew both individually and as a team. Looking back, that moment marked the beginning of not only our accelerator programme but our incubator, which is now part of the Swedish national incubator programme, and the demand acceleration model, which is currently receiving both national and international attention.

How do you relax after work?

When I’m not working, my family is my top priority. However, whenever I have some free time to relax, I love diving into a good book, dancing lindy-hop and casino (cuban salsa), and going for long walks. I especially enjoy taking my camera along, as it helps me stay present.

If you could change one thing/issue/problem in our society, what would it be?

We often try to tackle complex issues with tools suited for complicated problems. A deeper understanding of complexity and how to handle uncertainty would greatly benefit society in multiple areas. It’s an essential starting point for positive change.

Thank you Lina!
