Companies promote gender equality and inclusion with Schyst.se

Tietoevry is one of the companies that understands that gender equality and inclusion are key to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, safe and valued.

Region Värmland’s digital platform schyst.se is what the Karlstad office uses to provide its employees with tools that help them become more aware of the perspectives of others and the importance of everyone’s equal value

On 26 August, International Gender Equality Day, a workshop was organised for Tietoevry employees focusing on the benefits of creating an equal and inclusive workplace. Per Borg, Head of DelOps Sweden, Tietoevry Create, emphasises the importance of cultivating a culture that actively promotes gender equality and diversity by creating space to work on the issue. The workshop is part of the Attraktionskraft Värmland initiative, which is also behind the digital knowledge bank schyst.se.

– “We see the schyst.se platform as a valuable complement to our regular work towards building a workplace where everyone can feel safe, regardless of background or gender. Gender equality is not a temporary initiative, it is part of our long-term strategy for success. That is why it is important that we are curious and dare to try new possibilities, as with today’s workshop,” says Per Borg.

Workshop with inspiration and practical tools

The workshop was led by Emma Jakobsson from Region Värmland and Louise Torevik from IUC Stål och Verkstad, both active in Attraktionskraft Värmland and involved in educating companies about schyst.se.

– “For us, it is important not to give any pointers, but instead to inspire the group to find the tools that best suit the business. During the workshop, we discussed why gender equality and inclusion are important and showed how the participants can use schyst.se to create an open dialogue about gender equality and inclusion,” says Emma Jakobsson.

A report from McKinsey & Company (2022) shows that companies that work with diversity and inclusion increase employee retention by 47%. This is another reason to use the platform to create a sustainable and successful work environment.

Compare is part of Attraktionskraft Värmland

Attraktionskraft Värmland is a four-year initiative to strengthen the future supply of skills. The project is run by Region Värmland together with Compare, IUC Stål och Verkstad and Paper Province.
