Continued rapid expansion
Freedom Group thus continues its strategic expansion in the finance industry. In parallel with Nya Ekonomikompetens, it also acquires Nya Ekonomikompetens’ sister company Economity AB – a company specialising in CFO-on-demand services that enable cost-effective access to qualified financial expertise without bearing the cost of a full-time CFO.
In the same week, two further acquisitions were made in the form of OP Administration AB in Falun and Bokföringstjänst i Mönsterås AB, bringing Freedom Group’s total number of employees to almost 300, spread across more than 20 different agencies in 30 or so locations around Sweden. Growth has taken place in just a couple of years.
A unique holistic approach
Since its inception, Nya Ekonomikompetens has taken a holistic approach to its customers’ finances by working with methods such as annual wheels and focus processes as a complement to accounting and counselling. Nya Ekonomikompetens are also experts in payroll services, strategic HR work and accounting for project funds in public funding.
Something that is almost unique to Nya Ekonomikompetens’ customers compared to, for example, external accounting firms, is that each customer has a fixed date for monthly accounts to relate to. This means that, around the 10th of the following month, you know how the business is doing. Plus, all customers also receive the accounts visualised in picture and diagram form with key figures and business-oriented analysis/comments.

Stefan Ahlmark is the founder of Nya Ekonomikompetens and also a seller of Economity together with CEO Jacob Sachs. He comments on the deal as follows:
