The lecture will focus on how mental illness can affect both the work environment and the attractiveness of organisations. Marie Niljung’s goal is to provide important tools that facilitate and improve the treatment of people and employees when they are not feeling well and in supporting a colleague who is having a hard time.
The lecture will also provide an insight into how to recognise signs of mental illness in order to prevent sick leave, workplace accidents and, in the worst case, suicide attempts. Both from a resident perspective and from an employee perspective.
Speaking from personal experience and long-term knowledge
Marie herself lost both her parents when they prematurely ended their lives. She has written the book Hellre angre än död (Better angry than dead) and has worked at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency where she learnt how mental illness in Sweden is one of the main reasons for sick leave. Since 2014 she has been working with suicide prevention, both as a volunteer and employee at Suicide Zero and now within her own companies.
Her experience is extensive and the knowledge she conveys is important, so do not miss the opportunity to take part in her lecture free of charge, digitally or in person.
