Regional
Status: Ended
Period:
2022 - 2024

There is a skills shortage in Värmland. Individual companies and entire industries are currently having difficulty recruiting. This can lead to a slowdown in Värmland’s development and growth.

The labour market in Värmland is gender segregated, especially in our strategically important sectors: the forestry, manufacturing and IT sectors, which are overwhelmingly male, and the health and education sectors, which are overwhelmingly female.

Attraktionskraft Värmland wants to support employers to become more attractive on the labour market. To become more attractive, we need to work on attitudes, norms and values so that workplaces become more equal and inclusive. More people should want to work, enjoy their jobs and choose to stay with Värmland employers.

The goal: Attractive employers and secured skills

The aim of the initiative is for Värmland to have more inclusive employers who are attractive on the labour market and secure their skills supply. This will be achieved by ensuring that employers in Värmland have knowledge of and work actively on various gender equality issues.

Attraction Värmland is investing in:

  • Employers in Värmland have access to knowledge-building platforms to work on gender equality issues and become more inclusive workplaces.
  • Employers in Värmland are taking their own initiatives for a more equal organisation – with an inclusive culture and equal recruitment.
  • Stakeholders in Värmland are working together to build commitment and awareness of gender equality aspects linked to skills supply, training and recruitment.

Contributing to the Värmland strategy

The initiatives in Värmland’s attractiveness contribute to several areas of action in the Värmland strategy, which is our common tool for creating the Värmland we want and need for many years to come. Read more about the Värmland strategy.
